Greenhouse Gas

The Global Issue

Levels of several important greenhouse gases have increased by about 25 percent since large-scale industrialization began around 150 years ago (eia.doe.gov, May 2001). During the past 20 years, about three-quarters of human-made carbon dioxide emissions were from burning fossil fuels. In the U.S. greenhouse gas emissions are generated mostly from energy use. These are driven largely by economic growth, fuel used for electricity generation, and weather patterns affecting heating and cooling needs.Energy-related carbon dioxide emissions, resulting from petroleum, coal and natural gas, represent 82 percent of total U.S. human-made greenhouse gas emissions.

P2 sees renewable solar power as a means to decrease our carbon emissions and improve our environment. P2 is committed to a cleaner environment through the vision of a more efficient, distributed, and competitive renewable energy infrastructure.
